A guide to the Festival, The National Architecture Student Festival 2008 book includes an essay by Alex Warnock-Smith. Titled ‘The Food Exchange’, the essay reviews the live installations and participatory projects undertaken by students of architecture at London Metropolitan University - including an out-door film screening, an on-site soap making factory, a temporary soup kitchen and a public guerrilla al fresco dinner party – which explored the unique spatial character of Smithfield Market and speculated on its uncertain future.
