Private Manor House

Urban Projects Bureau worked with Studio Isola Mankad on the conversion of this late 20th Century Manor House in Hertfordshire into a luxurious second home and weekend destination. The project required a full-scale re-modelling of the interior spaces of the house, including a new double-height gallery in the north wing. The project also included the design of a new staircase with bespoke bronze balustrades; the conversion of an internal swimming pool with a new roof and skylights; a new steam room and gym; a new kitchen, and new furniture and finishes in the reception rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms. We enjoyed the opportunity to experiment with materials and bespoke lighting, and designed bespoke glass walls, hand-blown glass chandeliers, bronze-plated wall finishes, stone sinks and timber baths. The project also included the design of an external pavilion, landscaping and new lighting in the 5 acre grounds.
