The conversion and extension of an existing dilapidated 4 storey Georgian Villa into a handsome and dramatic 5 bedroom family home. The lower two floors of the existing house are transformed to create a double height kitchen, living and dining area. The conversion includes two bespoke iron fireplaces, a fair-faced concrete wall and a black-lacquered joinery wall with an internal window overlooking the double-height space. The folded geometric form of the side and rear extensions creates new internal and external living and working areas, with a studio space, kitchenette and roof terrace to the side, and a two-storey bay window and dining terrace at the rear.
We enjoyed the opportunity to enhance an impressive period property and create a unique and inspiring living and working environment with dramatic sculptural forms and materials. The house will be the first building in the UK to be clad in Corian.
